The Color Wheel Art Curriculum is a brand new art program for California public and private grammar schools.  The program supports Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 5th grade and includes a large variety of female, minority and contemporary artists.

Lake forest elementary Pilots the Color Wheel Art Curriculum

In Fall of 2017 Lake Forest Elementary PTC took a survey asking what parents wanted to spend funds on.  A new art program was number three on their list of priorities.

El Dorado Hills artist and teacher Jamie Lentzner spent years discerning what would make the ideal elementary school art program, first as a parent volunteer in her own children’s schools. 

What is included in Color Wheel aRt Curriculum?

Art Lessons that Follow Visual Art Standards

A comprehensive Transitional Kindergarten (TK) - Fifth grade Art Program that follows the California Department of Education's Visual Art Standards .

12 unique art lessons Per Grade

Student's working on a painting inspired by Wassily Kandinsky.

The art program includes 12 original art lessons per grade.  Each lessons include step by step instructions,  a featured artist and examples of the finished project.

Historical Figures & Events

Fourth graders will learn about the California Missions and create their own mission on wood.

A historical figure or historical event  from the History Curriculum is included in at least one art lesson per grade.

Schools can opt to purchase physical art samples from each art lesson for reference when teaching.

art docent training

Art Docents have extensive training and are given 24 hour customer support.

Art Docent on-site training and customer support included through out the entire school year.
